Austin Texas is world famous for its music scene, but it is also host to some of the best plastic surgeons in the country. Though she has only been back in Austin for a few years, Dr. Jennifer Walden has built up a very successful practice at the Westlake Medical Center.
Dr. Walden grew up around hospitals and doctors offices, her mother is a surgical nurse and her father is a dentist. So a medical career seemed to be a perfect fit for Dr. Walden.
She received her Bachelor Degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. She made it into The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston on a waiting list, but made it to the top of her class. This is where she decided that plastic surgery was her calling. There she received her Medical Doctorate with honors and was voted Salutatorian.
From UT Galveston she accepted an externship at Plastic Surgery Associates in Miami, Florida. From there it was off to New York where she was one of two people accepted for a post-residency aesthetic fellowship at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
While at Manhattan Dr. Walden perfected her craft while working with her mentor Dr. Sherrell Aston, a plastic surgeon famous all over the globe. After eight years in the Big Apple, Dr. Walden decided to head back to Austin to be near her own family, and start a family of her own.
She now operates out of Westlake Medical Center and specializes in aesthetic surgery. Face, breast, and body are Dr. Waldens main areas of expertise. Dr. Walden is a very active philanthropist in her community, and she is on many aesthetic and plastic surgery boards.
The City of Austin is lucky to have her back.
